Khidmah Organisation’s CommUnity Fundays 2025 marked another incredible milestone in our journey of Building Bridges and Connecting Communities. This year was particularly special as, alongside our long-established Men’s CommUnity Funday, we proudly relaunched our Women’s CommUnity Funday after almost a decade, creating two vibrant community celebrations that welcomed thousands of people from across Leicester.
The return of the Women’s CommUnity Funday reflected our continued commitment to providing inclusive opportunities for everyone in our community. Families enjoyed an exciting programme featuring the hugely successful Mini Olympics, a free Fun Zone, face painting, the popular Book Bus, information stalls, community organisations, and a fantastic selection of food vendors. The event provided a welcoming environment where women and girls could participate in sport, learn about local services, build friendships, and celebrate the diversity of our city.
Our Men’s CommUnity Funday once again brought together communities from across Leicester for a day of sport, family entertainment and community engagement. Nearly 1,000 children from madāris across the city participated in our annual football tournament, demonstrating teamwork, sportsmanship and unity both on and off the pitch. The ever-popular Free Fun Zone provided entertainment for children throughout the day, while visitors also explored a wide range of information stalls hosted by charities, emergency services, healthcare providers, educational institutions and community organisations.
The diverse range of food stalls offered something for every taste, showcasing the rich cultures and traditions that make Leicester such a unique and vibrant city. Throughout both events, families had the opportunity to connect with local organisations, access valuable support services, and strengthen relationships within the wider community.
Across both CommUnity Fundays, we were honoured to welcome educational institutions, senior leaders, dignitaries, charities, businesses and partner organisations from throughout the county. Together, the events attracted thousands of attendees, while our digital campaign reached more than 400,000 people across social media, extending the message of community cohesion far beyond the event itself.
By the grace of Allah, CommUnity Fundays 2025 once again demonstrated the power of volunteers, partnership and community spirit. Every activity, conversation and shared experience reflected Khidmah Organisation’s vision of bringing people together, breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for positive engagement.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, partners, sponsors, stallholders, sports organisers and supporters who worked tirelessly both before and during the events. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed their time, expertise and encouragement in making both days such a tremendous success.
Our beloved Messenger Muhammad ﷺ taught us: “Whoever does not thank people has not thanked Allah.” (Abū Dāwūd). In that spirit, we sincerely thank every individual and organisation who supported CommUnity Funday 2025. May Allah accept everyone’s efforts, place barakah in this work, and allow us to continue serving our communities for many years to come.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to growing these initiatives, strengthening our partnerships, and continuing to build bridges, connect communities and inspire future generations.
